Women in Leadership Forum
"Create Tomorrow: Drive Conversation. Inspire Change. Build Community."
Make plans to join us at the annual Women in Leadership Forum. During this special lunch, you’ll be able to network and mingle with other conference attendees and hear from leading industry professionals as they share their insights, success strategies, and business challenges.
This year's guest speakers include:
Holly Ransom is the CEO of Emergent, a company specialising in disruptive strategy and building the capacity of leaders to execute change. Emergent has worked with the likes of Microsoft, Virgin, INPEX, Europcar, KPMG, and the AIS, as well as local, state, and federal government departments globally.
Holly is an experienced non-executive director across the private, government, and non-profit sectors, in a statutory and advisory board capacity. In 2014, the Australian Prime Minister appointed Holly to chair the G20 Youth Summit, resulting in the first summit to secure its policy demands from G20 leaders. In 2016, Holly became the youngest woman ever appointed to the board of an AFL football club with her appointment as a director of Port Adelaide Football Club. She was also asked by the AFL to serve on their advisory board for the launch of the AFL Women’s League.
Her corporate career has involved working as chief of staff to NAB Wealth CEO Andrew Hagger and for Rio Tinto CEO Sam Walsh, giving her a strong background in complex change strategy, public affairs, risk management, government, and stakeholder engagement, as well as innovation- and technology-driven performance improvement.
In 2012, Holly was the youngest person to be named in Australia’s 100 Most Influential Women. She also became the world’s youngest-ever Rotary president. Her work with Rotary has played a key role in the global efforts to lift youth participation in the organisation.
An accomplished global keynote speaker, Holly has presented across six continents, including delivering a Peace Charter to the Dalai Lama. She has been featured on ABC’s ‘Q&A’, Channel 7 News and Channel 10’s ‘The Project.’ She is renowned for her commentary on intergenerational economic and social issues. A top-ten age group finisher in her most recent Ironman Endurance Triathlon, in 2016 Holly was listed by Sir Richard Branson as one of his dream dinner guests.
Naomi Simson started her entrepreneurial journey with RedBalloon in 2001, from her front room, with just $25,000 and a second-hand computer.
It is now considered one of Australia’s online business success stories – a retailer of gift experience that has sold more than 3 million experiences and has been featured on BRW magazine’s Great Places to Work list five years in a row. True to its mantra, Give, Share Live, RedBalloon supports more than 3,000 activity partners throughout Australia and New Zealand.
Before founding RedBalloon, Naomi worked for big businesses, including IBM, Apple, KPMG, and Ansett Airlines – all of which influenced her views on workplaces. Naomi is passionate about great workplaces and her entrepreneurial energy is focused on redii.com, a leadership tool that drives the alignment of teams through recognition and reward.
Along with her investments from season 1 and season 2 of Shark Tank, Naomi is a keen investor and supporter of the start-up community. In 2015, Naomi released the best seller, Live What You Love. And in May, 2016, her newest release, Ready To Soar, hit the book stores, too.
